Join us on Tuesday, August 12 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM for a MHBC meeting at the Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church, 1980 Dahlia Street, Denver CO 80220. Our August guest speaker is Dr. Cameron Jack. Originally from a small farming community near Las Vegas, NV, Dr. Jack grew up around honeybees thanks to his sideliner beekeeper grandfather. He pursued a Ph.D. at the University of Florida under Dr. Jamie Ellis, focusing on controlling the Varroa destructor mite. In 2018, he joined UF as teaching faculty and has since built a leading educational program in beekeeping, now offering nine bee-related courses and online certificate programs. In 2021, he became an Assistant Professor, continuing to teach and lead research on pesticides, pathogens, and parasites impacting honey bees. Dr. Jack Dr. Jack will speak to the MHBC about Varroa Biology and Control.
