March 2026 MHBC Meeting

Join us on Tuesday, March 10 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM for a MHBC meeting at the Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church, 1980 Dahlia Street, Denver, CO 80220. In our next club meeting, we will focus on swarm prevention, just in time to prepare for the spring swarm season. We have a great program planned for the March meeting! The main presentation will focus on swarm prevention, just in time to prepare for the spring swarm season. Led by our own Matt McLean and Eric France, we’ll divide the room into two groups and run simultaneous talks and demonstrations, each focused on a different beekeeping goal:

🐝 Swarm Prevention Through Splits (For increasing the number of colonies)
          Matt will demonstrate how to prevent swarming by making splits, ideal for beekeepers who want to grow their apiary and produce nucs.

🐝 Swarm Prevention Without Increase (For beekeepers not interested in expanding)
          Eric will cover practical strategies for preventing swarms when you want to maintain your current hive numbers.

Both sessions will include show-and-tell with equipment, so you can see techniques and tools up close and ask questions. This should be a practical, hands-on meeting with something for everyone — whether you’re expanding or simply trying to keep your bees at home this spring!
